Amzanig huh?

someone mentioned it had been on slashdot maybe a while back and la da da and this along with some other stuff from that freshman year course on introductory linguistics about how we parse items--like, if a kid across the says "i want my m--!" and then a bus comes by and you miss the last part you are positive you know the rest, the staccato movement of the eyes as they cross lines on a page, etc, and the claim we don't even actually wait to hear maybe 50 percent, maybe much more of what we think we hear in conversations because we quickly fill in the rest and move on, lazy speakers as speakers are...--has made me think lately that all of my trailing gestures and inarticulate sounds and etcs and ...s etc etc etc! and general laziness are products of wishing it were so on the other end, this. hm.

i need to not be lazy so, though. my whole life is this way.

made homemade (my own stock, yay) chicken soup with rice this morning. i put in carrots and onions because i don't really know what the hell i'm doing. that probably would have been more appropriate with the bagged noodles, i now realize... also made hashbrown style yukon gold potatoes for no reason really, just felt like it. eating now. yummy. and english breakfast tea. yeah, i'm weird.

need to go to the corner store soon for eggs and paper toweling.

at some point i need to call family, especially michelle, and also write down the many wonderful events and opportunities this fall has promised (and for some, already delivered!). i don't want to forget anything. and besides, just, when i look at my fridge calendar i always go "wow." it's like a glorious landmine.

need to make some big thing this weekend, along with the week's breakfast muffins. (i told you i was boring and domestic. wait, didn't i?) maybe some turkey?

this is a junk notepad. will stop now.
