We also invite you to a reception in honor of Professor Rowbotham, sponsored by the Women's Studies Program at the University of Pittsburgh, to be held the following morning, Friday, November 15 from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 noon in the Braun Room, 1201 Cathedral of Learning.

About the lecturer-
Sheila Rowbotham, a founding figure in women's history, is author of HIDDEN FROM HISTORY and WOMEN'S CONSCIOUSNESS, MAN'S WORLD (both published in 1973). Recently she has done important comparative and international work, co-editing WOMEN ENCOUNTER TECHNOLOGY (1995) and writing the ambitious CENTURY OF WOMEN: THE HISTORY OF WOMEN IN BRITAIN AND AMERICA (1997). Her latest book is a memoir of the 1960s called PROMISE OF A DREAM (2000).

The thompson lecture has long been supported by the departments of africana Studies, anthropology, communications, english, history, political science, Religious studies, sociology; cultural studies and women's studies; the Honors college; the center for west european studies, the university center for international studies, and the college of arts and sciences.



i also missed a chance to rewatch royal tenenbaums. ...though, i associate that movie with a certain special person and it wouldn't be the same without you, dear. but nico is nice any time...
