buying school supplies always cheers me up, the fresh start of it. shiny new notebooks and #2 pencils unsharpened and day calendars and...mm. in the fall, and for its prep, school and all with it still feels like a game. a pretty, put-your-socks-on-in-the-morning game. shower, eat toast, ride or walk to class, carry your new folders new binders new pens new bookbag new everything, new new new. and oh, for a little while, the diversion of it makes me happy. a colored construction, a piece of paper cut out.

michelle's fiddling with her new graphing calculator (tee hee...we are dorks) down in the basement, now that it's refurbished, and i just finished prepping some pizza dough. yay pizza tonight. and monday, i want to rewatch samurai jack, this time with michelle. the landscape/background art is beautiful, especially for a cartoon cartoon! i really liked it the first time i saw it. along with courage, sheep, the green powerpuff girl, and dexter, i like this brand of television.
this morning i went with my parents to the public market; we bought peaches to make cobbler tonight, and corn, and fish. yummy.
i also finished the crossword (i'm dumb, and it's keeping me okay, this constant diversion) with morning coffee, and took a ride around town on michelle's old bike. then, i slept. for what felt like a long time. i hate how when i go without sleep for too long, that coupled with too much caffeine (usually of the coffee kind) brings about a feeling of tightness in my skin, especially in my face. i don't know why.
anyway. i think this is the first journal entry, in this entire year here in livejournal land, in which i've actually summed up a day in journal-like fashion. maybe. sort of.
