.the strip district (public market type fare, and quirky places)
.jojo's diner, which serves incredible breakfast at all hours
.that asian food market, what is it, the lotus blossom? they have the best knick knacks and sweet snacks.

.last year, guided by voices, george w bush, al gore, low, the magnetic fields, and autechre all visited.
.the cathedral, all 50 something stories of it.
.the hillman library, as i can fall out of bed and land there.
.street vendors! especially for food, yummy.
.jay's books, and that bookseller i befriended that sets up shop at the union in good weather.
.free transportation (albeit crowded)
.mm, resnet connections
.the brick houses and residential areas around squirrel hill and shadyside, for twilight walks
.lulu's, the cheap and tasty noodle shop

.caliban book shop
.primanti brothers (thanks again, rob :) and the o for greasy, embarrassingly messy, surprisingly tasty junk food late at night
.the frick arts programs and various exhibits
.the pitt campus women's organization...it's quite active and quite fun.

things i don't care so much for.
.it seems 90% of the visible population uses cell phones, smokes, shouts loudly, watches the friends sitcom and blind date, raves about tanning salons, wears pounds of make up daily, and prefers an excessive amount of leather...i'm not knocking these traits so much as wishing they weren't the seeming prototype. it's like carbon copies.
.upitt's visitation policy is strange and irritatingly inconsistent
.the sea of green party kids who assume if you're not thirdparty, you're just ignorant and don't care about the issues...and thus try to "inform" your ignorant ass by shouting, chalking up the walk ways, and shoving papers and pins at you. :b
.pittsburgh is a sports city. very much a sports city.
.pitt cable doesn't appear to have foodtv.
.because pitt is a state school, it doesn't provide equal benefits to same-sex employee families.
.the violence!
.the public transportation system closes at, what, 10pm? and doesn't reopen until 6am or so. eeek.
.the sea of abercrombie and aeropostale.
.upitt elevators are cranky
.the usual stuff, frat parties and drunkeness
.the local sex industy subtly seeks out students in need of funds as employees.
.the overwhelming majority of upitt kids into indie like only hardcore andor emo. ah well. (laugh)
.this new regulation preventing street vendors to park around bigelow blvd.
.i miss trees, forests everywhere...
.aggressive drivers
.the racism.
.some of the columnists in the upitt paper frustrate me...but that's not a bad thing, just... ;)
