the idea from the generous thoughtful 01flux. i liked this a lot, thank you for sharing.
here're mine, on the quick.
color associations (sum)
purple: girl kids. velvet robes that aren't really. manufactured writing utensils, the gimmicky kind, far from a stick in the dirt. plastic '80s radios i had when i was seven. the rare lifesaver marriage ring (actually, usually red), if it even exists.
green: i only see forest green, hunter green, the color of the velveteen bodice of that one bridesmaid dress my aunt wore, for my mom's wedding. i wore it for halloween a few years back. maid marian was it? i forget. some sort of forest girl with long hair in plaits. i suppose it would have looked much better if i'd had forest colored hair, chestnut-like brown with red or gold, or even blonde colored...hm. i guess i associate black hair more with the sea. don't know why, maybe the things that live under it? but they glow...mm, contradictions. (puzzlement)
also, him because he was quite pointed about how it was his favorite color; a recurring dream that came up in poems, like a sooty misshapen angel.
blue: her sweaters. so. her lungs filling with snow-colored air and the breathing exhaustion in and out and in and out and--. valentine's day coldness. your icy crimson heart, though. getting narrower and narrower...
yellow: the name "camelia" and "camille" comes to mind, though for "camille" it's more like an egg white and camelia makes me think of the color of dried pale roses. wood yellow even, with the wood scars and knots and things. spinning silk. caterpillars in trees above somewhere, dreaming, the gestation, the waiting period for so much softness. light sleep.
orange: tang and . oranges. clementines, tangerines; not sunkist "regular" naval oranges; they're very transparent to me. yes, oranges. remind me of orange. (shrug) so i'm simple. : )
black: la mer, angry oysters producing pearls, nakedness that can't be noticed among all the other bodies alongside. very heavy, for the weight, not just a breezy ride.
red: -!- you will have to know me later or earlier to know this, me.
grey: the furry spines of cats, love and sadness in your eyes. not yet going clear, almost my love. almost. always. dear.
white: bedclothes matched with hair in braids. also the rarest light. to make you clean.
contradiction, but also simplicity. (wink)
