Listens: "sweet child o' mine" (slowdive????)

There are many suggestive similarities between language acquisition and cognitive development. During the first two years of life, for example, several cognitive advances that could facilitate language acquisition take place. One of these involves the development of object permanence, the ability to recognize that objects have an existence independent of one's interaction with them. Prior to the development of this ability, children seem to assume that an object ceases to exist when it moves out of sight, and that it is a different entity when it reappears. They therefore do not know where to look for an object that they observe being hidden; from their perspective, it has apparently simply ceased to exist. Object permanence emerges around age eighteen months, just prior to a period of rapid growth in the child's vocabulary...Children's ability to learn the names for objects increases dramatically once they understand that those objects have an independent existence.

it could be a chicken and egg bit...that they now have a need for naming, because it is not hereandnowtobewith. just turning...

i wonder if, if this "exists," if i developed this before or after being moved across the world to a new home. i wonder if i was aware that what i left behind "was." i wonder if i could even miss it, if i even had a way to express missing.

it's very hard for me to keep a straight face when hearing anything gnr related, as i have to keep in mind my too-cool-for-me-now cousins were making out with bighaired girls on their icky waterbeds to this stuff. ick. with topless girls on posters plastering the walls, beer can tabs collected on the desk, baseball cards EVERYWHERE.

my aunt, at paul's wedding to jennifer.

"you'd HAVE to be in love to dance to that."

(his "song" was this gnr song. her wedding dress and flowers and...gnr.)
