absolution so content and sundressed

Today

My favorite conversationalist, a mountain o' crawfish, and an ice cold beer on the first 90 degree day of the year. I can't think of a better way to spend it.

This morning we went to another HS band promotional carwash. Those kids are so cute. "Hi Mr. Traxler! (soapy spongy fist bump) Hi Mr. Traxler's wife!" Aww. And I still want one of those "Caution: Hearing Damage" or whatever cool-as-heck lookin' t-shirts. Someone was cooking out for the kids in one of those awesome old-and-truly-legit oblong black smokers. Smelled so good. Everyone was in a good mood because of the weather, you could feel that very physical coltish shared hum underneath everything.

So nice. And in the coming week, so much more! Meg's birthday, Ryan's (presumably last?) show with Ben, the Broad Ave. Art Walk, Joe's beer-and-pizza-matchin' dinner at Trolley Stop, Urban Farms stuff, and a big screen cleaned-up version of City Lights at the Brooks. Possibly that American exhibit at the Dixon too, while there are still tulips everywhere. And eventually weekend dim sum and paletas for sure. Yay. I um, kind of love Memphis right now. I never would've thought.

I'm also making Pesach fish with rhubarb sauce again and that rhubarb ribbon cake with brown crumble topping, mm.
