30 Day Song Challenge Day 04 – A song that makes you sad

Predictably, there are a lot (though I have a feeling not as many as for an upcoming one, "Songs you listen to when you're already sad"). A bunch of these are road-tested--while walking in mornings I have fought back tears when they came up, when I was just fine until.

"Ruth Marie" (and a bunch of Kozelek songs vaguely around that time period--"Sundays and Holidays" was one too) in particular reminds me of a very specific time in my life that was one of the saddest. Not in a clinically depressed way either like most of my teenage years--just deeply sad because, well, life is sad in those ways. I still think of all of those car rides to the hospital to see people for the last time and the tears start up again.
