an ongoing public gallery!
Think I'll continually update some pics I especially like, admittedly mostly of food.

wilted seasonal greens (escarole!) with stock, apples, and chile, yummmm

our leftover wedding favors/decorations doing decorative double duty

terrible window, lovely little details to keep me charmed: a good encapsulation of our abode in general
SPAIN. Va-va-valencia.

CAS

The Horace of sea lions.

Our first little room was right on the beach. Like. Put your toes off the balcony and you'll touch sand.

Getting ready for early morning (pre-breakfast!) wading.

Jellyfish!

And other fish.

The cat that befriended us when we woke our first morning. It was like Trudy was channeling us, ha.

The old city on our first day in.

Fuzzy but so how it felt

Neat little details all around like that

Some of the amazing graffiti art scattered through the city

These two pics together in immediate succession never fail to crack me up.

This guy reeled in an octopus right in front of us; we saw the whole thing. Wish I could have gotten a non-blurry shot of him reeling it in on the line. I was pretty amazed. I've seen people catch lobster and other shellfish in New England, but...

It was like the city was meant for Robert! "We take care of your best friend" indeed.
SPANISH FOOD!

Tapas at Casa Guillermo, known best for its anchovies, which we loved by the way

Fried fish on the beach

Conejo y marisco (rabbit and seafood) paella at La Marcelina

Tapas a second time at Casa Montana--the only place we ate at twice because I loved it so much. That place is so wonderful. My idea of heaven, huge casks and chalkboards of the week's wines and the nicest server ever.

Breakfast on the beach, including freshly squeezed Valencian orange juice.

Lunch on the beach. Clara and seafood, yay.

Pulpo gallega

The heladeria in town with crazy flavors like lobster, tomato, etc.
