You walked through life with a laugh and little pause
playing the darkness away on the tip of your tongue
Your perfume sliding over the crowd as your sound still swung, Making
men stand tall, hands crazed, poised for applause
Ears trapped by this divine lung
Everytime you blinked, a new sunrise built high
And every breath- a – pushing of the veil
You didn’t know it was we who had failed
We bastards with our sighs
It happened fast, a claiming of the past. She’d
barely begun her start
But, life takes those with the deepest souls, even this pure work of art.
