Actually, Woody's cousin Jack did it originally, letty. But I think Woody had a hand in there somewhere.
Just goes to show, re the election, that people have to guard their rights very fiercely, to preserve any.
@edgarblythe,
Thanks for the info, edgar. How about a song that tells history.
Peru marks 100th anniversary of Machu Picchu's 'discovery'
Peru has celebrated the 100th anniversary of the "discovery" of Machu Picchu, the Inca citadel.
More info here.

Izzat You Myrtle
Just posted this on pom's RIP Bill Morrissey thread, a memoriam for a great underappreciated songwriter from New England, who just died on tour, which is probably how he would have wanted to go. A great song, with a story sparely and simply told.
RIP, Bill.
@MontereyJack,
I never heard Bill Morrisey before he died. Too bad. He was very good.
@Letty,
I've been looking over Frost's poems, lately. Birches is a good one.
I've been looking for a place to post this joke. It's too good not to post and I really do not want to start a thread on political jokes.
Stephen Colbert told this recently: President Obama made a deal with the Republicans. The result is that the President suddenly became a very good guitar player.
@plainoldme,
His fingers got longer too.
@edgarblythe,
Never heard that one by Burl, edgar. Great. Reminded me of fox on the run.
Watched an old movie the other night, and it was about this guy.
He created the U.S. navy.

Johnny Horton was good at those historical songs, letty.
The same man singing on both songs. Dave Somerville.
Lots of good story songs, edgar. I, of course, love Joan Baez and Little Darlin was great.
Another one. Red River Valley

I have that version of Red River Valley on vinyl, letty. Most anything by Marty is fine with me.
