In both dubbed vs a subtitle versions? Untranslatable idioms abound. Major and minor differences in grammar and sentence structure. Many things are lost in translation when he dialogue and onscreen text is translated to your language of choice over the filmmaker's original language for the project.
Have you experienced discrepancies when watching films shot in your original language that came forward when presented in other languages?
@tsarstepan,
When the kid was watching the IT crowd in mandarin Moss "swears" by saying "ploppers." The Chinese translated that as "****."
@izzythepush,
Saw a Randy Newman recorded concert subtitled in French
He was singing about how in America there was nothing to do for Africans but eat the sweet watermelon and the buckwheat cakes
Buckwheat cakes was translated as profiteroles!
