I am completing a research project on the uniqueness of French culture and the idea of what being French is all about. I would appreciate any credible answers that I can then refer to in my essay

@ossobuco,
I shall always remember him this way...
I adored the movie "Gigi", I had a mad crush on Louis Jourdan, and, many many decades later, it's still one of my very favorite films.
It is complicated but also interesting for those of us here who are not French. I'm not either, but I have read, at least glancingly, a lot of their history at different times.

@saab,
Gauloise! Disque Bleu!
I haven't seen or tried one of those in donkey's.
They had an air of style about them, but tasted as if they were made from camel dung and bus tickets.
Aah, the exotic seventies......
@Lordyaswas,
Who else would try to smoke galoshes. Do they get them by the pack or by the pair?
Har Har Har.
A bit more for the picturebook
