Men At Work, The Seekers, Rolf Harris, that Shaddapya Face bloke, need I say more?
The Seekers - 60's
Men at Work - 80's
Shaddapya Face bloke - novelty joke act
Rolf Harris - imprisoned sex offender primarily known as an artist.
Slim pickings.

Did you hear that "Whoosh!" sound?
@Wilso,
The Bee Gees are British but they moved to Australia and basically became music stars while they lived in Australia and became Australian citizens so I gave them a bye on that.
I was a huge bee gees fan.
two of my favourite bands are Australian, Hunters and Collectors and Weddings, Parties, Anything
@djjd62,
first heard this in the early 80's on a great alternative radio station in Toronto (CFNY 102.1 The Edge)
here's an example of the later work
a fave from WPA
another fave
another cool Aussie musician I discovered recently
I can't believe we forgot -- the most famous of all Australian music groups ---
The Wiggles!
Weddings, parties, anything were a great story.
They were almost a hobby band until they wrote "Fathers Day", then suddenly found themselves winning at the ARIA awards. They were in a state of disbelief at what was happening to them.
Hunters and Collectors have been around for a long time. I saw them in concert once, and they were ordinary.
No one mentioned the Easybeats - great driving rock sound on some of their 60's stuff.
And Vanda and Young are till kicking along today as song writers / producers.
@margo,
Loved the Easybeats though I thought they were part of the British Invasion.
@panzade,
Pretty much, They were all 10-pound Poms (or from Netherlands, in Harry Vanda's case). Got together in migrant hostels.
How did I miss this thread?
Couldn't hear the first three, somehow not allowed, but that was partly remedied with the international version of Que Sera.
Have liked all of the linked that I did hear, which, for Ms. Picky, is unusual.
Keep the thread going!
@Wilso,
Beatles meant a lot of things to a lot of DJ music lovers! While many did not think of them as a garage band, their 60’s singles like "Day Tripper" and "Ticket to Ride," definitely had a special place in my high school garage band. They had set a template for lots of aspiring bands. Quite a memory!
Taylor Henderson - Host of Angels
@Wilso,
Gorgeous arrangement. The piano is sweet.
Distinctive voice.
Loved it.
