I'd never realised we didn't have a thread for specifically musical comedy.
I'll start the ball rolling with The Bedroom Philosophers song about a music fire sale...
@hingehead,
Here's the van drivers lament. Don't watch if you don't like swearing.
Incidently Paul Whitehouse is one of Johnny Depp's favourite comedians
@hingehead,
This looks like a good thread to follow...
@hingehead,
The unofficial Trader Joe's song that should totally become official:
Kickin' it Old School - this should be used to advertise the T (more specifically, the Red Line):
Oh, that kind of musical comedy.
@dadpad,
Now I know where the inspiration for the new book "Go The **** To Sleep" comes from!
The best musical comedian I've ever heard--Tom Lehrer. He's from way back, but funny is funny. No fancy visuals, just funny.

@Shapeless,
definitely agree it should be the official song
@dadpad,
Love Tim Minchin! In fact, I think it was you who originally introduced me to him in a thread you posted. He has one quite serious and beautiful song about Christmas called "Drinking White in the Sun."
Still my working my way through these - love the van song and lullaby - have no idea what Trader Joe's is so the jokes don't always work.
This ole fave just came up - French and Saunders vandalize a pop update of a classic beatles track:
@hingehead,
Trader Joes is a chain of grocery store that has developed a cult following because of its business practices and relatively cheap prices for its legendary selection of mostly Trader Joe's brand food, etc....
@tsarstepan,
And Two Buck Chuck. Don't forget the Two Buck Chuck - now going for three bucks.
@hingehead,
You're the Reason Our Kids are Ugly - Lorretta Lynn & Conway Twitty

@hingehead,
That was pretty damned funny. 'Splain to me about them ladies, Boss. Who are they, etc.
Sorry about the ad--but that's Youtube these days.
I could easily take over this thread with Weird Al . . . but i'll just add one now and again. Here Al spoofs Micheal Jackson . . .
