Probably of no interest to anyone except vintage Australians.
Marcia Hines migrated to Australia from Boston Massachusetts in 1969 to star in the Oz version of Hair. She later featured as Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar (as the stand in first time round - but I saw her not Michelle Fawden).
Anyway in the seventies she went on to have a string of solo hits and she's still a name and a performer (I think I last saw her in the Rock Quiz ensemble in Cairns - maybe 2016?)
Her biggest hit was 1977 with You.
I'd never much thought about it - but today I learnt it was a cover - and Tom Snow (who I'd never heard of) wrote it and recorded it in 1975.
Hunting through my collection on Discogs I can see that I have several tracks he has a writing credit on (performed by Air Supply, Peter Allen, Amy Grant and Cher) so he's very much pop which kind of explains why I'm blind to him. But maybe no-one's heard of him - but he has lot of
writing credits - not so many performance credits.
