How sad it must be for the rest of the world not to have Triple J's unearthed program.
My weekly ritual is to listen to the 5 song podcast from Dom Alessio

Then track down the ones I like at
http://www.triplejunearthed.com/
A massive database of free mp3 by unsigned Australian artists. In just one week these three tracks pop up....
Starting to think we might just be the most music obsessed nation on the planet.
another track from unearthed (a 16 year old producer/multi-instrumentalist teams up with a female vocalist)
Weirdness from Minnesota - apparently the album can be downloaded for free
Came up on random in the car today - never heard of them. Ocoai are from East Tennessee and this track seems to mine the undulating landscape between late 70s Pink Floyd and Joe Satriani without the dubious excesses of either.
Really, really like.
Don't know how this got into my download folder but I'm glad it did
ice crystals on the window of a firelit room.
A deadspin video brought this band to my attention ... how have I not ever heard of them before??? They're terrific!
Here's the link to the deadspin video (since it's not on youtube):

Turned up in my miscellaneous downloads - don't know why but I really like the underplayed menace in this.
I've been a Pandora user for long while, but lately it's been a bit hopeless at finding stuff I haven't already heard that I like - until last night
@One Eyed Mind,
That's not bad - sort of NIN goes ambient. I can take or leave the Jookabox track, I like their 'Phantom Don't Go' a bit more.
I can hear so many influences in this that I can't define any of them. Sort of like 'copying one source is plagiarism, copying many is research'. Like it.
Feeling bad I haven't posted hear/here for a while. Hope you like this one. Sort of a more commercial Alela Diane - sort of folky, indie, arty sumpin.
@hingehead,
Craziest, most magnificent tour de force by Jeff Mangum - mysterious wunderkind of Neutral Milk Hotel circa Athens. GA 1975ish.
This is his love song to Anne Frank. It gets weird.
"Oh Comely"

Best break up song ever. This is why they call her Amanda ******* Palmer.

Enjoying checking on yours, hinge.
Good stuff you guys. I treasure this thread though I don't submit much.
The internet has revealed so much talent that there's not enough time in our lives to appreciate it all.
I think I heard about Zola Jesus through a review of her latest album 'Okovi'.
Just getting to listen to it now - OMFG!
Love this track, but some of the others sound more like NIN meet Sheila Chandra after a night on the piss - what a voice.
