I'm putting together a small, essentials-only toolkit that I can keep in the laundry room. This is meant for small tasks around the house. Please offer suggestions for better options, or tools that I've missed.
*Tool belt (in which to keep everything)
*hammer
*universal screwdriver (one of those with the reversible pieces, so that you can drive large/small phillips (cross-head) or regular (flat-head) screws)
*measuring tape
*pliers (I'm using a small robogrip)
*small level
*box cutter
*stud finder (kinda redundant....)
*electrician's scissors (still need to purchase; I lost my last pair somewheres)
*roll of masking tape
*roll of electrical tape
*small bottle of gorilla glue
*box-o-small-parts (some nails, wall anchors, etc.)
@DrewDad,
Already realized I should probably have some duct tape.
WD40! "The versatile product with over 2000 uses".
@Irishk,
electric drill & set of drill-bits...
@DrewDad,
propane torch.
(nevermind, you are in no winter land...)
@DrewDad,
Allen wrench (ohh and swoon over the tool belt)

@DrewDad,

As well as the song! You need the bloody song as well!
@djjd62,
FIL claims it's not a successful repair unless there's some blood spillage...
@Region Philbis,
Sounds like a man who's read his
Grapes of Wrath.
@DrewDad,
Small wire cutter? (I finally put mine in the easy find tool drawer)
small hack saw? (same with the smaller hack saw)
@ossobuco,
Currently those are in the run-to-the-garage toolkit.
That's one of the reasons I specified electrician's scissors. They're hard enough to cut phone wires and whatnot.
Electric drill is in the garage, too, as I don't have a place for a charger inside.
@DrewDad,
Maybe that is what my quite small wire cutter is called, DD, my big one being more hefty like a good pliers. I didn't think of that.
@DrewDad,
If you haven't fixed it with duct tape, you haven't used enough duct tape.
6 inch shifting spanner AKA shifter AKA boxhead wrench.
A gimlet, which consists of a cross handle holding a metal shaft with a screw point, is used for boring small holes will save you a LOT of time going out to the shed to get the drill running extension cords
In your box of bits include some spare curtain hooks of whatever size style you have in use and whatever eyelets attatch the hooks to the curtain rail
tap washers.
I'm just trying to remember what we have in ours that have proved usefull without going to look.
adjustable crescent wrench?
