BAD SECTOR
BAD SECTOR
BAD SECTOR is a 2D platformer where dashing through certain objects unlocks new ways to get out of the abandoned computer system. You play as AV-CHIP95, an anti-virus program left behind in the system after it got shut down. Hack and infect yourself out of this system before completely disappearing from existence!
Gameplay:
In BAD SECTOR, you navigate through 2D platforming levels with a special ability: you can dash through certain objects to build up you own way out!
- Smooth and responsive controls: If keyboard or controller, the controls of the game are snappy and reactive
- Mindful Platforming Loop: Classic jumping and movement mechanics with special dash and stability meter.
Controls:
- A / D: Move Left / Right
- Space: Jump
- Shift: Dash
Controls are also displayed inside the game.
Development Status:
The current build showcases the core mechanics of the game and introductory levels. I am actively working on expanding the game with:
- More intricate levels and puzzles.
- Improved gameplay loops
- Upcoming new features
Feedback & Community:
As BAD SECTOR is in ongoing development, feedback, suggestions and comments are more than welcome!
This game is created with Godot Engine. Assets and UI provided by Kenney but altered to fit the setting of the game. The characters model and animations were provided by ZeggyGames Asset which was also altered to fit the setting of the game. The sound of the game were made by myself using Bfxr as a tool.

I have to open the locks somehow, right? I still haven't figured out how. Maybe you mentioned it in the opening dialogues, but dialogue sucks, sorry.
Thank you for your comment LazyMiB,
The goal of the game is simply to get to the end of the level by traversing through the platforms. The core mechanic, which is using your dash ability to dash through ‘hackable’ objects to unlock new platforms to progress, is also shown (unfortunately very sparsely) in the controls screen.
I’m realizing now that this goal isn’t really clearly communicated to the player. I’ll make sure to improve this section and to make it more understandable to the player.
As for the dialogues: I’m a bad writer when it comes to story. I’m fully aware that the story and the dialogue need A LOT more care. I initially created this system just to have it ready for later stages of development.
Love the style
Thank you so much! I’m happy you enjoy the style!
