Dear Yuletide Author

Dear yuletide Author,

First of all, I am sorry in the delay in posting it.

Secondly and most importantly, thank you for signing up and thank you for participating in this year's yuletide. I'm certain that I will like almost anything that you write for me. And I sincerely hope that you have fun writing your story. I've tried to leave my prompts both in my actual sign up and below somewhat vague because I find that with most ficathons and exchanges, the more limitations that you set for your author, the less likely you're going to get something that you truly like. I want you, dear author, to be comfortable in whatever you write me. Please consider this letter a simple guideline but by no means anything set in stone.

Preferences:</b>
Pairings: In most cases, I do prefer het, femslash and genfics. That said I do have a few fandoms where I am okay with slash fic.
Genres angst, UST, hurt/comfort, AU (except for the everyone's human AU in supernatural fandoms). I really like strong characterization, sarcastic humor, missing scene fics and fics that explore the characters and their motivations. I also have a fondness for moody/atmospheric pieces.

On the fence about: First/Second Person POV - I used to be completely opposed to it but when done right, it really works well.

Dislikes: MPREGs, PWP (not that I am against sexy times by any means but I love plot), character bashing, incestous pairings (with a few exceptions), fluff, bodily fluids (except for blood).

Now let's get onto those fandoms that I requested.

01. The Secret History - Richard, Francis, Camilla & Judy - I'd love to see something set when Richard is a little older and maybe a little wiser. Maybe ten or twenty years down the line. Something dark, cynical and maybe a bit dreamy. A touch of the supernatural on the side wouldn't hurt either (real or imagined.)

I am rather fond of Richard, even I think he's probably the most unreliable of the lot of them and an unreliable narrator. I found the novel itself to be dreamy and atmospheric and I'd love to see those elements in any story you write for me. When I mentioned about the supernatural - whether real or imagined - I like the idea of the characters being haunted by the events (or ghosts) from that year either literally or not. One of the other things that I'd love to see and I don't thinK I've seen in fanfic for this fandom is Richard is only 28 when he's narrating his story. He's not even ten years away from the events. The events took plae when he was around 20/21. Taking away the main event that occurs - which I won't spoil you by accident if you've not yet read it - I don't think that Richard really has the perspective to look back at his so-called youth. I found that there's a wistfulness and longing on his part to go back to those days, regardless of what happened. I'd love to see someone exploring what a 40 year old Richard thinks of that time. That said, I'd also love to see a fic where Richard was part of the group when they were running around in their togas in the middle of the woods. Or even just a fic about what happened that night where Richard isn't there. A fic where we see Judy as the narrator as she explores her frustrations over Richard. Or really anything.

02. The Secret Circle - TV - Jake, Cassie - I am familiar with both the TV show and the books and I felt that Jake balanced Cassie out more than Adam/Cassie. I'd like to see something with angst with these two and something set after the series.</b>

First, I want to stress that I am familar with both the books and the TV series. If you are as well and want to do some sort of fusion fic combining the two, I'd love that. IF you don't, I'd love that too. I'm pretty chill about this fandom and pairing. I don't have a lot of requests because to be honest, I just want to see them together interacting. I love the idea of Jake teaching Cassie magic or them snarking at one another or them trying to save everyone else.

03. The Craft - Nancy, Sarah, Bonnie Rochelle - Something with angst but a side of redemption would be nice. Something set after the movie.

Every year there's one fandom that just calls my name and makes me go "oh I want that." The Craft was this year's fandom for that. I would love to see something where Nancy is redeemed. If I have one problem with the film, it's how Nancy was treated in the end. I get why it happened but I was never 100% happy with her becoming the villian of the piece. I'd equally love to see a missing scene(s) fic wtih these four ladies being awesome. I have no real shipping prefences so feel free to surprise me. My main desire is something about redemption post move and maybe a road trip (or not, since that's a last minute addition to my request.)

04. Dark Shadows 1991 - Joe, Peter, Victoria - There's not enough fic for the revival series. I would love to see Vicki with either Joe or Peter. I really don't have too many preferences as long as the atmosphere of the show is retained.

I will never be over the fact that this show got cancelled and that Victoria never got her happy ever after with Peter. I am sorry as much as I do like the Barnabas/Victoria ship, I am more a Peter/Victoria or Joe/Victoria shipper. I'd love to see something where it's moody and gothic but Victoria gets a happy ever after with either Joe or Peter or maybe even both.

05. The Historian - The Narrator, Batholomew - I'd be happy with pretty much anything in this fandom. But the two characters that fascinated me the most were Rossi and the Narrator.

I really have nothing to add to this. I'd love to see something with either or both the Narrator & Rossi.

06. Dracula - Lucy, Mina, Something dark, spooky and maybe just a little naughty between these two.

To be quite honest, I'd love anything in this fandom. I'd be happy with something that captures the mood of the novel. This is probably the one fandom that I'd be okay with an everybody human AU (with Dracula being a creepy old man.) I pretty much adore most pairings, including some "rare" ones like Lucy/Jonathan. I'd be happy with anything timeline wise - i.e. before the novel, during it or after - and I am really okay with slash, femslash. het or gen. I'd love to see a dark and spooky Lucy/Mina but I'd be happy with anything you feel like writing.

Again, I want to say that you can take the above notes about the fandoms that I've requested however you'd like. You can use them for inspiration or not, Take them or leave them. At the end of the day, I am really not that picky, I think like most of the participants, I get excited to go on about some favourite and rarer fandoms. I am really looking forward to seeing what you'll write for me. I am pretty certain that I'll love whatever you've come up with for me. The best part about [Unknown LJ tag] is getting a fic. Thank you again for signing up to participate this year, for reading my letter and for writing me something.

As always my requests are a bit vague because I find that with most ficathons and exchanges, the more limitations that you set for your author, the less likely you're going to get something that you truly like. I want you, dear author, to be comfortable in whatever you write me. Please consider this letter a simple guideline but by no means anything set in stone.

I do have a few universal preferences and dislikes.

Preferences: Pairings: het, femslash, genfics. Genres: angst, UST, hurt/comfort, AU (except for the everyone's human AU in supernatural fandoms).

Crimson Peak - Thomas Sharpe, Edith Cushing, Alan McMichael - Whilst I enjoyed the movie and the way that it ended, I would have liked to see Thomas survive. I do feel that he cared for Edith but I am not sure how deep that emotion went. I'd love to see an AU where Alan saves the day, rescues Edith and Thomas has to deal with some of the consequences for what he and his sister did but maybe where he's redeemed. I feel this is a fandom that's definitely suited towards moody/atmospheric pieces full of angst and hurt/comfort.

Lucifer - Lucifer, Mazikeen, Trixie, Linda - I do like the interaction between Lucifer and Chloe, I'd like to see something between him and Mazikeen - perhaps Chloe has him babysit Trixie and hijinks ensue? This is probably the one fandom where I am not looking for angst but something that captures the essence of the show. In the first seaosn I really liked how Lucifer reacted to Trixie but I also like his relationship with Linda and Mazikeen. That said, I'd be happy with anything for this fandom.

Absolutely Fabulous - Patsy, Edina, Saffron - I primarily ship Pasty/Eddie but every now and then I can see Patsy/Saffy happening - the hate!sex between those two would be pretty intense. I'd love to see something post movie, perhaps something dealing with Patsy's spouse and how all of the changes with change things in the Monsoon house. If you're not familiar with the movie, I'd be happy with something set during any of the series with these three or one of the pairings I mentioned earlier.

Push 2009 Cassie, Nick - I do ship Nick/Cassie together. My ideal fic for this fandom would be a future!fic where Nick has to come to terms with how he feels romantically for Cassie whilst thinking he's wrong for feeling that way since she was just a kid when they first teamed up. I'd also kind of like to see Cassie being clueless with how Nick is feeling about it all whilst dealing with her own feelings that she thinks are unrequited. If Nick/Cassie isn't your thing, I'd love to see a friendship fic between them. Maybe Nick dealing with Cassie being a grown up? In other words, something angsty but with a happy-ish ending.

Dracula - Bram Stoker - Lucy, Mina, Jonathan, Quincey. - I'd love anything in this fandom. I'd be happy with something that captures the mood of the novel but where Quincey lives. I don't have a specific pairing but this is one fandom where I am kind of okay with the supernatural being downplayed (i.e. everyone human - Dracula is just a creepy old man). I also kind of like the idea of Jonathan/Lucy. That said, I'd be happy with something that's set prior to the events in the book - how did Mina and Lucy meet? THis is probably the one fandom where I am okay with slash, femslash, het and gen fics.

Dark Shadows (1991) - Victoria Winters - Either something dealing with the events of Season One on a whole or even Victoria/Peter fic set in 1790.

Again, I want to say that you can take the above notes about the fandoms that I've requested however you'd like.
Dear Yuletide Author Letter

My apologies for updating this so late... but life has been crazy.

First and most importantly, I want to take the time to say thank you. Thank you for signing up to participate in this year's yuletide and thank you for writing me something this year. I'm certain that I will like almost anything that you write for me.

I really like strong characterization, sarcastic humor, missing scene fics and fics that explore the characters and their motivations. I also have a fondness for moody/atmospheric pieces.

On the fence about: First/Second Person POV - I used to be completely opposed to it but when done right, it really works well.

Dislikes: MPREGs, PWP (not that I am against sexy times by any means but I love plot), character bashing, incestous pairings, fluff, bodily fluids (except for blood).

Now let's get onto those fandoms that I requested.

American Horror Story: Coven - Zoe, Madizon, Kyle. - Although I selected these three characters, I'd be okay if Misty Day, Myrtle Snow and Cordelia Foxx made appearances. I'd like to see something outside of the Supreme storyline. Maybe something AU but still set within in the Coven world. I'd like to see hurt/comfort, unresolved sexual tension and future!fic with these characers. Or even something exploring something with the three of them (and/or Misty) based on one of the episodes.

Dollhouse - Echo, any character. - Echo/Alpha is one of my favourite ships. I'd like to see what happened after "Epitaph Two: The Return." Or even an engagement Where Alpha has hired Echo. That said, I'd be happy with pretty much anything within this fandom.

Penny Dreadful - Vanessa Ives, Ethan CHandler, Dorian Grey. - I'd love to see something along the lines of a threesome between these three after the events of the first season. That said, I'd be happy with something just dealing with these three period. I don't really have too many preferences for this particular fandom and I'd just be really happy to see some fic.

Lost Boys (1987) - David, Michael Emerson - I'd love to see something where the vampires won and what would happen if Max had his big happy family with Lucy at his side. Or I am equally happy with something shippy between David and Michael.

Dark Shadows (1991) - Either something dealing with the events of Season One on a whole or even Victoria/Peter fic set in 1790.

Elementary - Kitty, Joan, Ms. Hudson, Jamie. - The women in Sherlock's life, either fic about the four of them, maybe Jamie somehow recruiting them to work for her or how their lives have changed because of Sherlock. I'd love some good character fic based on anyone of these characters.

Again, I want to say that you can take the above notes about the fandoms that I've requested however you'd like. Thank you for signing up to participate in this year's yuletide and thank you for writing me something this year. I'm certain that I will like almost anything that you write for me.

Penny Dreadful - Vanessa Ives, Ethan Chandler, Dorian Gray. - I'd love to see something along the lines of a threesome between these three after the events of the first season. That said, I'd be happy with something just dealing with these three period. I don't really have too many preferences for this particular fandom and I'd just be really happy to see some fic.

The Secret History - Donna Tartt: I specifically didn't select any of the characters because I like them all. I'd love to see something like a missing weekend during the timeline of the book with any or all of the characters. I'd even love something post-novel as I found the few details that Tartt gave us left me wanting more. My favourite character is Richard but I find him to be a character where I don't always trust his narrative. So even something from the POV of someone else about Richard would be great to see. Or just really anything. This is the one fandom where the idea of incest doesn't bother me as much due to Charles/Camilla.

American Horror Story - Murder House - Tate Langdon, Violet Harmon: Part of me hates where Violet ended up. Without giving too many spoilers. I'd love to see a story that is completely AU when it comes to Violet. Maybe where she is ten years after the events in the house. I also like the idea of redemption, motherhood and forgiveness. I do like the Tate/Violet pairing but it's more because it's such angsty pairing, I am not a believer of Tate getting a happy ending.

Dark Shadows 1991 - Barnabas Collins, Victoria Winters, Julia Hoffman. I'd love to see something post-series, something with these three and perhaps Joe? I tend to ship Victoria/Barnabas, Victoria/Joe, Barnabas/Julia. Again this is a fandom where I'd be delighted to see something written for it.

China Beach - K.C., McMurphy - I've been a fan of this show since it first aired and I've been a fan of these two for as long. I don't mind if they're paired together or if they're just friends. I really have no specific preference other than I'd love to see some more fic in this fandom with these two ladies.

The Blacklist - Tom Keen, Donald Ressler, Raymond Reddington, Elizabeth Keen - This is a fandom where I am on the fence about shipping. The chemistry that Elizabeth has with all three of these men is something that makes me undecided shipping wise. For this fandom, I'd be happy to see a fic set in either season with Elizabeth dealing with the three men in her life. That said, I am partial to Donald/Elizabeth since there doesn't seem to be a lot of it out there.

Again, I want to say that you can take the above notes about the fandoms that I've requested however you'd like. You can use them for inspiration or not, I am really not that picky, I am really looking forward to seeing what you'll write for me. I am pretty certain that I'll love whatever you've come up with for me. The best part about yuletide is getting a fic. Thank you again for signing up to participate this year, for reading my letter and for writing me something.

First and most importantly, I want to take the time to say thank you. Thank you for signing up to participate in this year's yuletide and thank you for writing me something this year. Genres: angst, UST, hurt/comfort, AU (except for the everyone's human AU in supernatural fandoms).

Dark Shadows 1991. My optional details included something that was set post-series. I'd love to see something with Barnabas, Victoria, Julia and Joe (if you can make that work, I'd be delighted.) I am not overly familiar with the original canon but I have watched some of it and it's on my to-watch list. I tend to ship Victoria/Barnabas, Victoria/Joe, Barnabas/Julia.

Secret Circle (TV): My optional requests included involving a Cassie/Jake/Adam triangle post series.

I am familiar with both the books and the TV show. I felt that the TV series really didn't play around with the whole idea of a love triangle as much as they could have. I'd love to see something that just explores the dynamic between the three chracters, especially the whole Cassie/Adam being written in the stars along with Cassie's interest in Jake and Jake's conflict with being a witch and a witch hunter.

As well, I love Jake/Cassie in the show (somehow it's taken the place of the Nick/Cassie ship from the books for me.) I also love Adam/Faye and Faye/Cassie. The one thing that I find sadly missing from the few fics that are out there for the Jake/Cassie ship is the fact that Jake is a witch hunter, even if he's switched sides, he has a dark side. He's already killed on the show, it stands to reason that he's done so outside of the series. I don't want to see a fluffy Jake/Cassie ship, I'd rather see one dealing with the darker tones of this pairing. That kind of goes for the Adam/Faye and Faye/Cassie. Although I am not completely opposed to the idea of Adam/Cassie, it is after the end game in the books and possibly for the series, I'd rather it not be the complete focus of the fic.

Dollhouse: My optional requests included something with Echo/Alpha set post-series after Echo's year in the dollhouse. Or anything during the apocalypse and the characters.

Although I'm a sucker for Alpha/Echo, the same can be said for Adelle/Laurence, Claire/Boyd and a few others. I will pretty much read anything in this fandom when it comes to pairings and characters. I do prefer fics that explore the darker side of the dollhouse, both set in the Epitaph timelines and during the series. I'd love to see a fic that fleshes out Boyd and the big reveal about his character in Season Two.

With this particular fandom, I am okay with slash, femslash, het and gen.

American Horror Story: My optional request included forgiveness and the evil of the house. My favourite characters are Tate, Violet, Constance and Moira.

Although I do like Tate/Violet as a pairing, it's more because of the angsty dynamic of the pairing. I don't believe that Tate deserves a happy ending for all that he's done but I also think a happy ending would be freedom from the house.

Absolutely Fabulous:

One of my OTPs will always be Eddie/Patsy. Anything with Eddie, Patsy, and Saffron just being themselves would be awesome.

Elementary (TV): My optional request included a scenario where Irene was the one who set things up so that Joan is the one who helps Sherlock from the start.

I really like the Joan/Sherlock dynamic and I am not a shipper in the sense that I think these two have a romantic love for one another. I like Sherlock and Joan to be friends and only friends. That said I like something about the potential dynamic of Joan/Sherlock/Irene. Confusing I know.

Again, I want to ay that you can take the above notes about the fandoms that I've requested however you'd like. I am really looking forward to seeing what you'll write for me. I am pretty certain that I'll love whatever you've come up with for me. The best part about yuletide is getting a fic. However, I am quite happy reading something gen with the two of them on another adventure or even just dealing with their every-day lives. To be honest, I'd be happy to read anything in this fandom.

The Avengers: My OTP is Emma Peel/John Steed. I would be delighted to read anything focusing on these two characters in any capacity as long as it contains champagne.

Again, I want to ay that you can take the above notes about the fandoms that I've requested however you'd like.
Dear yuletide Author

Dear yuletide writer,

First and most importantly, I want to take the time to say thank you. Thank you for signing up to participate in this year's yuletide and thank you for writing me something this year. I'm certain that I will like almost anything that you write for me.

I really like strong characterization, sarcastic humor, missing scene fics and fics that explore the characters and their motivations. I also have a fondness for moody/atmospheric pieces.

On the fence about: First/Second Person POV - I used to be completely opposed to it but when done right, it really works well.

Dislikes: MPREGs, PWP (not that I am against sexy times by any means but I love plot), character bashing, incestous pairings, fuff.

Now let's get onto those fandoms that I requested.

Dollhouse: Although I'm a sucker for Alpha/Echo, the same can be said for Adelle/Laurence, Claire/Boyd and a few others. I will pretty much read anything in this fandom when it comes to pairings and characters. I do prefer fics that explore the darker side of the dollhouse, both set in the Epitaph timelines and during the series. I'd love to see a fic that fleshes out Boyd and the big reveal about his character in Season Two.

China Beach: I'd pretty much love to see anything in this fandom. I've always loved the fact that both McMurphy and KC were very strong female characters and I enjoyed the relationships that they had with one another and with Boonie and Dodger. A fic exploring that, whether it's shippy or not, would be greatly appreciated.

Secret Circle (TV): I am familiar with both the books and the TV show. I love Jake/Cassie in the show (somehow it's taken the place of the Nick/Cassie ship from the books for me.) I also love Adam/Faye and Faye/Cassie.

Absolutely Fabulous: I've alwasy been a Patsy/Eddie shipper but I've also grown to like the idea of a Patsy/Saffy ship. I mean can you just picture the hate!sex between Patsy and Saffron? That said, I also love the dynamic between Patsy, Saffron and Eddie. Anything in this fandom would be adored.

Again, I want to ay that you can take the above notes about the fandoms that I've requested however you'd like. I am really looking forward to seeing what you'll write for me. I am pretty certain that I'll love whatever you've come up with for me. The best part about yuletide is getting a fic. Thank you again for signing up to participate this year, for reading my letter and for writing me something.

Dear femslash11 Author,

Is it that time of year again? First and most importantly, I want to take the time to say Thank You! I am certain that I will like almost anythingthat you write for me. Please note that this letter is more just a guideline, please feel free to write the story that your muse wants you to write.

I do have a few universal preferences and dislikes that I will share with you.

Preferences: Genres: angst, UST, hurt/comfort, AU (except for everyone's human AU). I really like strong characterization, sarcastic humor, missing scene fics, and fics that explore the characters and their motivations. I also have a fondness for moody/atmospheric pieces.

Dislikes: First Person/Second Person POV, PWP, character bashing, incestous pairings, fluff.

This year, I requested the following:

Listed fandoms:
01. Buffyverse - Faith/Cordelia, Faith/Willow, Faith/Buffy, Cordelia/Willow ~ Although I love Faith being a bad girl, I equally love stories dealing with her redemption. My biggest pet-peeve in this fandom is that sometimes characters like Faith and Cordelia can be protrayed rather one-dimensionally.

02. Glee - Rachel/Santana, Santana/Quinn ~ I love bitchy!Santana who doesn't censor herself. I also like that softer side we get glimpses of. You know the one who takes care of her friends.

03. Harry Potter - Hermione/Bellatrix ~ All I'll say is the darker the better. Just as long as both characters are still alive afterwards, I'll be happy.

Wildcard fandoms I request: (limit three):

01. Dollhouse - Echo/Claire, Echo/Whiskey, Echo/Adelle, Echo/Sierra ~ Although I love the whole series to bits, I love fics that deal with the Epitaph episodes in some fashion and fics that deal with the darker side of the Dollhouse.

02. Supernatural - Ellen/Mary, Ruby/Jo, Ruby/Bela ~ With the exception of the first pairing, moral ambiguitiy is always great to read in the femslash of this fandom.

03. St Trinian's - Annabelle/Kelly ~ I've seen both of the films but the first is by far my favourite. I love to read future!fics for these two.

That's it. I hope that you have fun participating this year and again thank you!

yuletide Letter

Thank you for signing up to participate in this year's yuletide and thank you for writing me something this year. I'm certain that I will like almost anything that you write for me. As always my requests were a bit vague because I find that with most ficathons, the more limitations you set for your author, the less likely you're going to get something you'll truly like. I want you, dear author, to be comfortable in whatever you write me. Please consider this letter a simple guideline but by no means is anything set in stone.

I do have a few universal preferences and dislikes.

Preferences: Pairings: het, femslash, gen!fics. Genres: angst, UST, hurt/comfort, AU (except for everyone's human AU). I really like strong characterization, sarcastic humor, missing scene fics, and fics that explore the characters and their motivations. I also have a fondness for moody/atmospheric pieces.

Dislikes: First Person/Second Person POV, PWP, MPREGS, character bashing, incestous pairings, fluff.

Now let's get onto those fandoms that I requested.

Dollhouse: Although I am a die-hard Alpha/Echo fan, you don't have to write a shippy fic between the two of them. Actually I'll be straight up with you, if you want to write a Dollhouse fic, the only things you need to know: I love fics that focus on the "Epitaph" episodes and the darker side of the Dollhouse. My other favourite characters in this fandom are Whiskey, Sierra, Topher and Victor. Feel free to explore any of those characters and not just Alpha and Echo.

Miami Vice: I've been a fan of this show for a very long time. I grew up watching this with my parents so it has a very special place in my heart. That said, it's one of the few fandoms that I don't really ship anyone. I can see the canon ship of Gina/Sonny and I can see why people ship Crockett/Tubbs together but I don't actively ship either pairing. If you want to write me a day in the life piece focusing on Trudy, I'd be just as happy if you wanted to write a piece about the Trudy, Sonny, Rico and Gina going undercover. Please feel free to include any character that you want from the series and I can honestly say that more fic in this fandom would make me very happy.

Being Erica: I will say this, my secret kink is Erica/Josh. I would love you forever and ever dearest author if you could write me an Erica/Josh fic. That aside, I love Erica/Cassidy and Erica/Kai as well. I'd love to see a fic focusing on the whole process of therapy or even just something dealing with Erica going back and dealing with one of her regrets and how it affects her when she comes back to now. I am current with this series so you can write about any of the seasons.

AB FAB: I'm a Patsy/Eddie shipper but if you wanted to write a fic that's all about the awesome hate!sex between Patsy and Saffron, well who I am to stand in the way of your muse? But seriously, for me this show was all about the dynamic between Patsy, Eddie and Saffron. Anything dealing with that would be awesome.

Again, I want to say that you can take the above notes about the fandoms however you'd like. I am really looking forward to seeing what you'll write for. And again, thank you for taking the time to read this letter and for signing up for yuletide. I am certain that I will absolutely adore anything that you write for me.

yuletide letter

Dear yuletide writer,

First of all, let me start this by saying thank you. I do realize that for the most part my prompts were fairly vague and I do apologize for that. I personally tend to find that in ficathons, the less specific I am, the more I end up enjoying the resulting fics. I've always enjoyed the direction that ficathon authors have taken in the past, so please feel free to take the prompts in whichever direction that you'd like.

Preferences: When it comes to pairings, I prefer het, femslash and gen!fics. As well with genres, I do tend to prefer angst, UST, hurt/comfort and AU (except for the everyone-human AU). In general, I really like strong characterization, scarcastic humor, and fics that explore the characters and their motivations. I also have a fondness for moody/atmospheric pieces that take you to a certain frame of mind.

Dislikes: First Person POV/Second Person POV, PWP, MPREGS, character bashing, incestous pairings, fluff.

Being Erica: Although I'd really love to see a fic focusing on Erica/Cassidy or even one focusing on Erica's relationship with Josh, I'd be equally happy with any fic that deals with what Erica's changed by reliving her regrets. I think that there is so much in this show that we don't get to see, in particular what happens after Erica's changed a regret. We know that what she's changed is what sticks in the now timeline of the show, but it'd be great to see it developed a bit more outside of the whole postcard that Erica received from Cassidy. I am current with this show, so please feel free to write a fic set either in Season One or Two.

Dark Shadows (1991): It has always killed me with the way that this show ended on such a cliffhanger. What happened next is something I'd like to see. How does Victoria react now that she knows the truth about Barnabas? It doesn't really matter which characters you use, I'd just love to see something continue from that cliffhanger.

The Avengers: Emma Peel/John Steed are truly my OTP. You can seriously not go wrong with a fic that involves champagne and these two together, whether it's shippy or not. There truly is not enough fic in this fandom so I'd be delighted with any direction that you took with this.

The Saint: I'd love to see a Emma/Simon fic after the movie ends. I've always personally wondered if these two could make it after everything settles down, but again as long as the piece takes place after the events in the movie, I'd be happy with any direction that you decided to go.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to read this letter and thank you for signing up for yuletide. I am certain that I will absolutely adore anything that you write for me.

yuletide letter

Dear yuletide writer,

I know that my prompts were fairly vague and I do apologize for that. Although this is my first time participating in yuletide, I tend to find that in ficathons in general, the less specific that I am, the more I enjoy the resulting fic. I've always enjoyed the direction that ficathon authors have taken in the past. So please feel free to take the prompts in whichever direction that you'd like.

Likes: angst, UST, femslash, hurt/comfort, AU (except for the everyone-human type of AU, I prefer fics that somewhat follow canon), strong characterization, scarcastic humor.

Dislikes: First Person POV, fluff, PWP, MPREGs, character bashing, incestous pairings.

Absolutely Fabulous: Patsy/Edina from Saffron's perspective. ~ Although I've always loved the idea of Patsy and Edina as a romantic couple, you do not have to take it in that direction. I'd be equally happy with a gen piece about what Saffron thinks of her mother's relationship with Patsy.

The Avengers: Emma Peel/John Steed, het or gen is fine ~ There's not enough fic for this fandom in general. I'd be happy with any direction that you took this.

The Lost Boys (movie): Any, I prefer angst, doesn't matter if it's slash, het or gen ~ Seriously, anything that you want to write for me in this fandom as long as it's angsty, I will be exceptionally happy. I pretty much love all of the characters in this film. If you're really stuck, my favourite characters include Sam, David, Michael and Star. I will pretty much ship anyone in this fandom because I think there's so much potential for it.

Hex: Any, I'd love to see something set after the second season ended. ~ I am a sucker when it comes to falling in love with shows that don't end properly. I'd love to see a fic that takes up where the second season ended because the possibilities are endless. My favourite characters for Hex are Thelma, Malachi, Roxanne, Ella, and Cassie.

Again I apologize for the vagueness of my requests but I know that I will be happy with anything that you write me. I hope that you have fun writing and thank you so much!

Edit: I edited this a bit to clarify a few things.

Supernatural Drabble Fest

Since afteriwake and I are bored, we thought we'd do something fun.

I came up with the idea of doing a drabble-fest thing. Basically, someone (in this case me) writes a drabble and leaves a character/pairing request and a prompt and someone (in this case you) writes a drabble in response and then leaves a character/pairing request with a prompt.

More than one person can respond to the request and prompt, however it'd be cool if people wrote a drabble for each request and prompt.

If you're writing Wincest, please include that in the subject line. As well please put rate your fic.

If there was one thing that Dean Winchester hated the most, it was Halloween. He didn’t really care about the complete commercialization of the pagan holiday. However he had lost track of the number of hunts that had gone sideways because of Halloween. Usually because someone had cast a ritual in jest not realizing that the ritual would call their dear Auntie Gertrude from the grave and invariably Dean would get sidetracked from his original hunt to hunt a zombie that was only trying to impart some wisdom on their beloved niece or nephew. And he never got thanked once he had returned the zombie back to the grave, probably because no one wanted to deal with the fact that their beloved Auntie’s remains were salted and burned to prevent her from rising again. Yes, if there was one thing that Dean Winchester hated the most it was Halloween.

My request: Dean/Layla, prompt: a highway

Some thoughts and a fic...

Ok I just typed up three fics today and have to write a few more... they can be found at my lj group,ats_btvs_fanfic

I'm getting super burnt out lately. It's this stupid graveyard shift. I really need off of it. I am starting to get sick from it.

Anyhow I promised a fic. This is my "early" Faith ficathon fic.

Title: Cheeseburgers & Diamonds

Author: Sweetness (ficathon@yahoo.com)

Rating: PG-13 (some really minor swearing.)

Pairing: Faith/Lilah/Lindsey interaction.

Disclaimer: It all belongs to Joss Whedon and Co.

Distribution: My site (http://fanfiction.angel-buffy.com), if you already have permission, just let me know. Otherwise, ask.

Notes: This was written for the Faith ficathon for voleuse (who wanted: Lindsey & Lilah (pairings optional), and cheeseburgers and diamonds. Didn’t want it set in the W&H building, no Angel, no fluf.) Set during season two of Angel.

Feedback: Yes please :)

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

“I don’t see the point in this.” Lindsey grumbled.
”Hmmm… I think that the whole point is that the Senior Partners wants this.” Lilah said as she started out the limousine’s windows.
“It’s a colossal waste of time. It’s like trying to convince a born again Christian that sin isn’t that bad.”
”First of all, I think that Wilson’s department might disagree with you there. And comparing Angel to Jesus Christ, isn’t that a little extreme?” Lilah looked at Lindsey pointedly and wondered once again why everyone thought he was capable of running their department.
“Yeah it is extreme, but he saved her life, put her on the path of redemption and all that happy crap.”
“And now she’s in jail. Just perfect to be tempted.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if she kills one of us and then finds redemption with the target. That’s her normal modus operandi.”
“Very negative attitude, Lindsey, perhaps you would like to sit up front with the chauffer?”
“And let you get all the credit if this actually works out? I don’t think so, Lilah.”
”Good, because she’s here.” Lilah said as the door opened.
Both Lindsey and Lilah waited patiently as the brunette entered the vehicle. It was obvious that redemption had agreed with her, as the waxy near-death look was gone. Then again, Lilah mused, it wasn’t as if she had just woken up from a coma, switched bodies with the other Slayer twice, and gotten beaten up like she had a year ago. Lilah also thought that the rosy glow on the brunette’s cheeks meant that she had either found love or redemption, probably both with the help of Angel, which meant that Lindsey was probably right about their chances at succeeding. Lilah figured that stranger things had happened, and wondered how she could pin a failure on Lindsey.

*          *            *            *            *            *            *            *            *            *            *            *

Faith looked at the two lawyers from Wolfram and Hart and wondered what they could possibly want with her now. She knew that the law firm was aware of her search for redemption. So she figured that they had to be there for one of two reasons: to try to tempt her again or to kill her for failing to slay Angel. Or perhaps both. Faith wasn’t worried about the situation, even though she knew that no one was going to be able to rescue her this time. She would have to rely on herself, which was something that she knew would have had to happen sooner or later.
“Faith, how lovely to see you.” Lilah said with a fake smile.
“Sure, whatever.” Faith replied.
“We’re here to hire you.” Lilah said, when Lindsey remained quiet.
“I’m a Slayer, and my services aren’t for sale.”
“They were the last time we saw you.” Lindsey said.
“Yeah well things have changed.” Faith glared at Lindsey.
“Perhaps, they have. However, lets go to some place where we can eat and discuss this rationally.” Lilah interjected.
”Do I have a choice?” Faith asked.
“No.” Lindsey replied.

The three passengers in the dark limousine were silent as the chauffer drove them from the prison to a nearby diner. Lindsey poured himself a scotch from the bar in the car, and glared darkly at Lilah. Lilah, on the other hand, alternated between looking out the window and looking at Faith. Faith had the impression that the lawyer was trying to calculate her weaknesses and breaking point. In reality, Lilah was thinking of how it was a shame that Angel had gotten to Faith, and how she could blame this failure on Lindsey, who appeared to reaching an inner crisis. Meanwhile, Faith was staring straight ahead and wondering how it was going to play out.
Before any of them knew it, the driver had pulled the car to a stop in front of a diner. The chauffer ushered them out and into the diner. It struck Faith that the only one who didn’t standout was herself. Lindsey wasn’t too bad in his expensive suit and loafers; he merely looked like a lawyer with his wayward client, who had ended up in prison. However, Lilah stood out in her crimson red skirt and jacket, and diamond earrings, bracelet and ring. She looked like a wealthy woman who was on the wrong side of town. Lindsey ordered them all cheeseburgers and chocolate milkshakes. And the idea of Lilah eating a messy cheeseburger in her diamonds caused Faith to smile. They waited until the food arrived before discussing why Wolfram and Hart wanted her to work for them again.
Faith dug into the food, as soon as it arrived, it might have been a cheap diner, but to her the cheeseburger and milkshake were still food from the real world, which made it taste better. Especially since she didn’t have to worry about someone have spit into her food, the one thing she hated about prison was that everyone seemed to think she was the one to fight in order to prove themselves. It meant that she had a lot of enemies who thought nothing of ruining her food and things. But right now she was on the outside and eating a cheeseburger that tasted like it was the best thing in the world.
“You know, Faith, taking this job would be beneficial to you as well as us.” Lindsey said as he watched her eat her food like a starving man.
“Yeah, you said that before about Angel.”
”It’s different this time.” Lilah said.
“How?” Faith said as she took another bite of her cheeseburger.
”Well you would do us this small job and we make sure you get released from prison.” Lilah smiled at her, sure that she had found Faith’s weak spot.
“What’s the job?” Faith feigned interest in their words.
“We have a client who’s become problematic.” Lilah said as she smiled at Lindsey.
“So what you want is for me to murder this client.” Faith said.
“It’s a vampire, something you’re supposed to slay.” Lindsey said sharply.
“Kinda sounds familiar to me.” Faith said.
“Look Faith, Wolfram and Hart are not your enemies. Lindsey and I aren’t your enemies. We’re not really that bad, once you get to know us.” Lilah patiently said.
“Never said you were.”
“Then what’s the problem? We’re asking you to do something that’s your duty, your calling, and your destiny. Yet, you’re acting as if we just asked you to murder some innocent.” Lindsey impatiently explained to her.
“Nothing’s ever black and white with Wolfram and Hart.”
“Faith, nothing’s ever black and white in the real world.” Lindsey said.
“No, but you two and your law firm have a tendency to make things difficult for me.” Faith said as she longingly looked at Lilah’s diamonds flashing in the dingy light of the diner.
”Be that as that may, Faith, but we genuinely need your help and in return we can help you.” Lilah said, sure that they were moments away from having Faith’s agreement.
“No.” Faith said as she finished the last of her cheeseburger.
“What?” Lilah said, before catching herself and asking, “Why?”
“I don’t want to. I am not happy in prison, but I am finding redemption.”
“Cut the born again crap.” Lindsey ground out.
”It’s not crap. And anyhow me being in jail’s probably more beneficial to Wolfram and Hart.” Faith said as she glared at Lindsey.
“How so?” Lilah asked as she mentally cursed Lindsey for his outburst.
“Well you got one Slayer in Sunnydale who’s distracted by the Hellmouth and every demon that thinks it can take her on. Her death may or may not activate another Slayer, no one really knows for sure. Then you got me, in jail safe and sound from all the demons that want to take down a Slayer. My death will certainly activate another Slayer, who might be persuaded to fight the good fight against Wolfram and Hart. Way I see it is you have a good thing going here, whether I take on your job or not.”
“Perhaps.” Lilah said as she pushed her untouched cheeseburger away, while she tried to figure out how she could use Faith’s explanation to her advantage.
“You gonna eat that?” Faith asked, pointing to Lilah’s plate.
“Go ahead.”
”Guess cheeseburgers and diamonds don’t go together, eh?” Faith asked.
“No, not really.” Lilah said, she was slightly surprised at how Faith could go from being so articulate to being so rough in the space of a breath.
The three sat quietly while Faith ate. Each was lost in their own thoughts. Faith didn’t regret her choice, but she did sometimes wish that things could be different. She hated being a Slayer, especially since she had to live in Buffy’s shadow. Perhaps in some ways it would be for the best if she were still bad. But such was life, she though to herself, as she finished the cheeseburger. No matter how much she wanted it, Faith would always be the rough, cheeseburger type of girl, whereas Lilah Morgan would always be the femme fatale in crimson and diamonds, because Faith didn’t have the heart for evil like Lilah obviously did. So Faith would be a good girl and would return to prison to pay for her crimes because she had found redemption. Perhaps Lindsey was right when he called it born again crap, but at least she could sleep at night and she could look in the mirror without hating herself. From the look of it, Lindsey was about to break with the weight of the guilt he had to be carrying around. And Lilah appeared to be completely soulless, something that Faith didn’t want to become. So she’d go back to prison no matter how tempting the offer was.

** END **

She had just finished staking a vampire that didn’t seem to care about the rain that was pelting down; when she felt that something was wrong. She looked at Willow and mouthed the word “Dawn” before she took off in a run. Willow called her name to try to stop the Slayer, but Buffy was not going to stop, she had to protect Dawn. All Willow could do was run and do her best to keep up with the Slayer.
Buffy knew something bad was happening in her home and she had to save Dawn, ever since she had come back from the dead, things had changed subtly and she couldn’t quite place what had changed. It was like she was living in two worlds, one was the real world that she had left behind to save Dawn and the other was some fantasy world where she had been ripped from. She continued to run down the street and refused to think about her brief stay in heaven, saving Dawn was more important. As she turned down her street, she didn’t even realize that she was soaking wet all that matter was Dawn. It was a mantra she was screaming inside of her head: “Must save Dawn! Must save Dawn! Must save Dawn!” over and over again. Everything else was unimportant, not even her best friend screaming at her to stop and calling out her name could make Buffy stop. She finally reached her house, and she tried to open the door but it was lock and it was then that she realized she didn’t have her key. She couldn’t just break the door down, what if that was whatever was holding Dawn and hurting her needed to kill her sister. Then she would have failed her, but at the same time precious seconds were passing her by. Just as she was about to kick the door in, Willow caught up to her and pulled her back.
“Don’t Buffy.”
”But Dawn’s in danger, I can feel it.”
”No she’s not.” Willow said as tears ran down her face, drenching her already wet cheeks.
“Yes, she is. I can sense it. I know she is.”
”Buffy you don’t live here anymore.”
”Yes I do, Willow we all do, you, me, Tara and Dawn.” Buffy looked at her and once again raised her leg to kick the door.
“Stop!” Willow said as she knocked on the door. “I will prove it to you.”
As the two drenched girls stood there as the rain pelted down, Buffy could hear some movement behind the door which slowly opened to reveal a young woman, who was perhaps five years older than she was. She looked at the two of them standing on her doorstep and sighed.
“Hello Willow.”
“Hi again Amber.”
”Let me guess, she doesn’t remember again.”
”No, do you mind if I show her around?” Willow asked the blonde.
“I guess not, it’s better than her kicking the door in.”
”I am sorry, really I am.” Willow said.
“I know, its just part of living in Sunnydale, right?”
”Yeah.”
Buffy watched the exchange between the two women and she allowed her best friend to slowly show her how the house had changed and how there was nothing there to show that Buffy and her family once lived there. When they were done, Willow said goodbye to the woman who now owned the house as she gently pulled Buffy back out into the rain. Willow didn’t say a word as she took Buffy by the hand and guided the devastated Slayer towards the house they were now living in. Buffy didn’t say a word as Willow slowly pulled her up the walkway to her old home.
“We’re both drenched, I am pretty sure your mom and dad aren’t going to be happy to see us. Why don’t we go to Giles’s apartment?” Buffy suggested.
“Buffy, Giles is in England right now, and don’t worry about my parents.”
”But..”
”Shh, it’s okay Buffy.”
Buffy allowed her friend to take her into the house although her mind was screaming at her to not go into the house. But her body didn’t listen to her mind, and it allowed itself to be gently pulled into the house. Things were different here, gone was the sterile perfection that Willow’s parents had kept the house in. Instead, Xander sat on the sofa playing video games with Spike. The two jumped up when the saw the girls. Neither said anything as Xander ran to get towels and Spike went to the kitchen to make something warm for them to drink.
“But, Dawnie.” Buffy weakly protested.
”She’s gone, Buffy, we did everything we could to save her. But after you died, she just started fading away day by day. Giles said it had something to do with the fact that she was only mystical energy. Once Glory had been defeated, the need for the Key to be in a human form was no longer necessary, so she reverted back to energy.”
”But..” Buffy started as she began to cry, ignoring the wet clothes.
The others came around her and comforted her. They knew that the chances are the next night she would forget again and try to save her sister. Giles was in England to see what he could to get Faith released from prison and to find some magical cure for Buffy. Almost every night, the blonde Slayer forgot what they had told her since she had returned from the dead. She believed that her friends had somehow raised her, not that she had been brought back by the Powers that Be or some other force. She couldn’t accept that she had sacrificed her life only to lose her sister, the very person she had sacrificed her life for.

** END **

My late Angel-athon assignment.

Finally I am caught up, yay!! Now I just have to start writing the other ones. Anyhow, this was written for janeway216 not too sure I got the comedy/schmoop part done pat but at least it does have tons of cute Baby!Connor. Now on to the fic:

Title: Father’s Day 1/1
Author: Sweetness (ficathon@yahoo.com)
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: None
Disclaimer: It all belongs to Joss Whedon and Co.
Distribution: My site (http://fanfiction.angel-buffy.com), if you already have permission, just let me know. Otherwise, ask.
Notes: Written for the Angel-athon (assignment at the end of fic.) Set during A:TS Season three.
Feedback: Yes please :)

Angel was surprised that he actually had the day alone with Connor. Lorne was visiting a client, Gunn and Fred were out on a date, and Cordelia had accompanied Wesley on a visit to their old friend David Nabbit, apparently the millionaire had a lead for them. It wasn’t that Angel didn’t care about the others but when they were all around it always seemed as if they were compromising his time spent with Connor. There was always a case to work on or someone wanted to hold the baby. And although Angel knew that the others cared for the adorable baby as much as he did, in fact he knew that Cordelia loved Connor as much as he did. It was just that he got jealous of the time they all spent with his Connor. And it made Angelus want to break out from his confines in the prison that the soul had bound him in and rip all of their hearts out for interfering in his time with his son. Even Angelus was enthralled by the infant, all Connor had to do was gurgle and Angelus wanted to destroy anything that could harm Connor, including himself. But the main thing about Connor was that like with any parent and their new child, Connor reminded Angel of his own mortality. All it would take was a well-placed stake, enough holy water, or even someone moving a curtain and Angel would be a pile of dust. And he just knew how a pike of dust would be a poor father to his son. And Connor was a miracle that was the other thing. He shouldn’t exist, but he did and that made him that more special to Angel, as well as something that others wanted to utilize for their own purposes. So Angel never wanted to take his eyes off his son, if anything happened to Connor, Angel wanted it to be on his watch.
But at that precise moment none of this matter, all that mattered was Connor and his cute baby ways. Angel picked his son up and took him downstairs to the lobby all the while cooing to his son. When Angel put him in the bassinette, his son looked up at him and gave him a toothless grin and started kicking his legs around. And in that moment Angel realized that it didn’t matter that he didn’t believe in the Shanshu prophecy because having Connor was so much more important to him than becoming mortal again. He sighed as Connor gurgled in delight as Angel had unknowingly slipped into his demon face. It had surprised him that his infant son had no problem looking into the face of the monster, and Angel had to wonder if the fear of monsters only came later in life.
The vampire was completely engrossed in his son and consequently did not hear the intruders who silently came into the hotel lobby. There were four short creatures that wore long robes and had hoods that covered their heads. They silently signaled one another as they moved into positions of attack. Anyone who was looking on would have thought that the little creatures, who were only about three feet tall, would about to commit suicide by taking on a champion such as Angel but anyone watching would soon be surprised. “Hand us over the baby, Angelus,” the ringleader of the group said. Angel turned around and was surprised to see the four creatures. Each of them had the face of rat, but other than that they appeared to be humanoid. The other thing that Angel noticed was that each of them had a stake in their hands or paw (Angel wasn’t quite sure as he wasn’t able to see much of the limb that held the stake.)
“Hand us over the baby, Angelus.” The ringleader spoke again.
“And why should I do that?” Angel asked calmly as he assessed the danger.
“Because we will kill you if you don’t.”
”You can try.”
After Angel said that, three things happened. The first was that Connor started to cry, something that Angel and Angelus both hated to hear, Angel’s face changed into that the of the demon to protect his son, and the four rat men attacked him. Before Angel even knew it, the four creatures had knocked him down, and two of them effortlessly pinned him down. Despite his struggles to get back up, the two rat men were able to prevent him from moving. And the leader of the creatures had moved towards Connor’s bassinette. Angel’s started to struggle even harder when the leader picked Connor up, however Connor stopped crying and looked at the rat man. Then the baby started to gurgle as the creature bounced him up and down in his arms and cooed at the infant. After a few moments the leader turned his attention back to Angel.
“You should stop struggling, Angelus, it only strengthens our powers.”
”The name is Angel.”
”Perhaps that is the name you go by now, but a part of Angelus will always reside in you. Just like a part of Liam will always reside in who you are now.”
”How did you know that?” Angel asked as he stopped moving.
“We know many things. We could even tell you the future of your son.”
”How?”
”My race is gifted with the ability to read a person’s destiny.”
”Why are you here?”
“To repay an old debt.”
”What old debt.”
”A long time ago when you were still Angelus, you did us a great service.”
“I… I don’t know what you are talking about.” Angel said as he racked his mind for the memory of these strange creatures.
“No, I don’t think that you would. But when you were Angelus you killed a demon that was determined to destroy my clan because of a destiny that we had read on his son. We saw then what your future held for you and vowed to repay you back for what you had done to us.”
“By attacking me?” Angel asked.
“Well you did threaten us first. We could not take the risk that you would consider us a risk and kill us first before letting us repay you.”
”But…” Angel started.
”Hush, the time for bickering is over. We have a gift for you.”
“What?” Angel asked warily.
“A day in the sunlight with your son.”
”No.”
”There is no cost for this, Angelus. We offer you this day freely. Sadly you will be bound to the courtyard of this hotel, so that my brothers and I can maintain the magic necessary to allow you this day. But the price for this day has already been paid.”
”No.” Angel said, still distrustful of the creatures.
“Do not be stubborn Angelus.”
”Why today and not any other day.”
”Because today is the day that mortals calls Father’s Day. We figured it would be the best day to repay you for our clan’s continued survival. The price has been paid, and this day is yours free for the taking. It is up to you.” The leader said as he handed Angel back his son.
Angel stood there silently debating his options. The little rat men did not seem like they were intent on harming him, instead, they formed a circle and pulled out supplies that he recognized were for performing white magic and not black magic. It was Connor’s gurgling that decided it. He merely looked at the rat men’s leader and nodded. And in a few minutes, he was able to walk into the sun and play with his son.

** END **

Assignment:
You're writing for janeway216:
Genre You Prefer (no guarantees, but we'll do our best to oblige both reading and writing preferences, ie. shippy, smut, darkfic, slash, etc ): Schmoop or comedy.
Requests (1 or 2) (one or two things you'd like in your story, ie: angst, a phrase, a character): Baby!Connor.
