Need to Pick a Random Number? You’ve Come to the Right Place!

Ever felt stuck trying to make a perfectly random choice? Whether you’re trying to pick a winner for a social media giveaway, create fair teams for a game, or just need a random number for any reason, our tool is here to help.

This Random Number Generator is a super simple, no-fuss tool designed to give you a random set of numbers in seconds. No complicated math, no spreadsheets—just the numbers you need, when you need them.

How to Use This Tool (It’s Easy!)

We designed this tool to be as simple as possible. Here’s how it works in just a few clicks:

  1. Set Your Range: First, tell the tool the “pool” of numbers to pick from.
    • Min: Enter the lowest possible number you want (like 1).
    • Max: Enter the highest possible number you want (like 50).
  2. Decide How Many: In the “Generate” box, type how many random numbers you want the tool to create. For example, if you’re picking 3 winners, you’d type 3.
  3. Choose Your Options (The Fun Part!)
    • Allow repeats? This is an important one!
      • No: Select this if you want every number to be unique (like drawing names from a hat). This is perfect for giveaway winners.
      • Yes: Select this if you don’t mind if the same number shows up more than once (like rolling a dice).
    • Sort? How do you want your list to look?
      • Do not sort: Gives you the numbers in a truly random order.
      • Sort (Low to High): Arranges your results from the smallest number to the largest.
      • Sort (High to Low): Arranges your results from the largest number to the smallest.
  4. Hit “Calculate”! Just click the “Calculate” button, and poof! Your custom list of random numbers will instantly appear in the “Answer” box. You can then use the handy “Copy” button to grab your list and paste it wherever you need it.

When Would You Use a Random Number Generator?

You’d be surprised how often a set of random numbers can come in handy. This tool is perfect for:

  • Picking Giveaway Winners: The fairest way to choose a winner from a numbered list of entries.
  • Gaming: Rolling virtual dice (set Min to 1, Max to 6) or a D20 for D&D (Min 1, Max 20).
  • Making Decisions: Can’t decide what to eat? Number your options (1. Pizza, 2. Burger, 3. Salad) and let the tool decide!
  • Creating Teams: Randomly assign numbers to people to create fair and unbiased groups.
  • Lottery Numbers: Want to try your luck with a set of numbers you didn’t overthink? Here you go!
  • Data & Testing: Developers and students can use this to get random sample data for testing apps or spreadsheets.

A Quick Note on “Repeats”

The “Allow repeats” feature is powerful. Let’s say you want 5 numbers between 1 and 10.

  • If you choose “Allow repeats: Yes”, you might get a result like: 8, 2, 5, 2, 9. (See? The ‘2’ showed up twice, just like rolling a dice).
  • If you choose “Allow repeats: No”, you are guaranteed a unique list: 7, 1, 9, 4, 6.

Important: If you select “No” for repeats, make sure your “Generate” amount isn’t larger than your range! (You can’t get 10 unique numbers if your range is only 1 to 5).
