PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
It's December! Yay!
And December is a time for presents and shit. (Trust me. I know these things. I teach preschool and my students assure me that this is what it being December means. Officially. Though, I'll grant you that they generally leave off the 'and shit' part. Thankfully.) But the relevant part here is the presents. That's what we'll be concentrating on for the purposes of this post.
And if there is one thing that I like? It's presents. Both the giving and the getting of said presents. Let's be clear that I am an equal-opportunity present appreciator.
And another thing that I like? Mythological stuff and nonsense. As do you, I'm assuming, poor bastard kind soul that is reading this post. Due to the fact that you are reading this post. And if you don't, why are you reading this? Seriously. Stop now. Spare yourself the pain.
Anyway: Clearly this liking of mythological stuff and nonsense and the liking of presents can easily be combined.
Now, this is probably the point in time where someone with better organizational skills would lay out some rules. But this is me, and I have the attention span of a gnat with ADHD, so I'm just going to arbitrarily make some shit up.
Though, honestly, it's all about what you want here, people. Leave written prompts. Leave picture prompts. Specify what characters/pairings/locations you would prefer or just leave it open to interpretation. Hell, don't even wait for a prompt at all. Just leave people presents - written ones, drawn ones, macro ones. Hell, Sims screencap ones, I don't care.
Use
hellenist characters,
7forhellas characters, versions of characters you just felt like messing around with. Go with canon, run off with gender-swap, return to ancient Greece, set it all in 1920s Chicago for all I care.
Leave comments signed-in. Leave comments anonymously. Participate in some unholy conglomeration of all of the above. Just get creative. Mythologically. Leave some love and get loved on. And tell us who/what you're writing/drawing/screencapping about so that we can all appreciate your genius. And even that isn't a rule or anything. Hell, make us figure out what's going on like a twisted Where's Waldo or something. I'm just craving some inspiration. (Seriously. Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You are my only hope.)
So this is less a writing meme - though, by all means, write - and more of an anarchy meme, but the point still stands. I'm down for a bit of lawlessness here. Bring it on, bitches. My inbox can take it.
Okay, so anon-comments are disabled on the community at the moment. My apologies. Leave presents anyhow. We all know that we're weirdos.
Scratch that. Go forth! Anon-comment away. Prompt the everliving heck out of things.
