The Journey of IAE
The Institute of Adult Education (IAE) was established in 1960 as an extra mural studies section of Makerere University College, under the University of London. In 1963, the Institute was upgraded into a department and placed under the Dar es Salaam University College.

Conference
Conference on Lifelong Education
As the Institute of Adult Education (IAE) celebrates its 50th anniversary, it is organizing a conference on Lifelong Education from 25th to 27th August, 2025 at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC), Dar es Salaam City, Tanzania. Thus, IAE invites all interested researchers, students, academics, policymakers, and practitioners to submit papers on the proposed subthemes for the conference. Selected papers will undergo peer review and be published in the conference proceedings.

- 1 Title: Should be concise in 15-20 words.
- 2 Abstracts: Must be in English and submitted via email conference@iae.ac.tz by 31st May 2025.
- 3 Length: Not more than 200 words (excluding title, authors, etc.).
- 4 Format: Times New Roman, 12pt font, 1.5 spacing, 7th APA style.
- 5 Content: Introduction, purpose, methods, findings, conclusion, and 3-5 keywords.
