Another Reason I Love My Parish
This Sunday's Gospel was one of the accounts of the miracle of the loaves and the fishes. For the last couple of years, I've dreaded hearing this particular story because the homily has invariably been about how the "real miracle" is that everybody shared the food they had and got warm fuzzies, etc., ad nauseam.
No more. :)
The silly homily did not materialize. :)
Father began by mentioning how many modern Scripture scholars claim that the Gospels are inaccurate because the two acounts of the miracle of the loaves and the fishes don't agree about the number of people fed, one claiming 4000 and the other 5000. "I don't think it's out of the question that Jesus might have performed the same miracle twice." :D
LUURRVEE my parish. :D
