26point2GPS for iPhone is used by the marathon runner to send their GPS location to the Internet during an event. This is a 'send' location only program, in order to receive your position and show it on one of 60+ course maps your 'interested parties' will need to use 26point2 for iPhone and configure it to follow your UDID. Please check your map is available at: http://www.26point2app.com/features/marathon-maps before choosing this app. The purpose of the location you send is for your spectators to be able to track you on the actual course map and compare the GPS position and time to the Smart Mile Markers (plan). [email protected] Please plan ahead, you should not wait for a race to use 26point2GPS the first time. This program is highly configurable, experiment with the different settings see what works best for you. Make sure the spectator(s) can find your location (before the race day) and know the start time and your target time for the best experience following you on the actual day of the race FEATURES - SETTINGS * Automatic or Manual Tracking You decide based on your estimated pace which type of tracking is best for you. * Minimum Battery Level When running automatic tracking in background mode, you decide when you should stop tracking if your battery falls below this level. * Accuracy Options How accurate does your location need to be? Choices: 10m, 50m, 100m, 1km * Distance Filter How often does your location need to be updated? Choices: 400m, 800m, 1600m, 2400m * Email Tracking ID You are tracked using the unique device identifier of your phone (UDID). Consider the UDID as like the serial number of the phone, it does not tie to your information in any way. In order for someone to follow you, you need to email them your Tracking ID. * Other Transmitted Data - Shows what data is sent to the server, see one of the screen shots below. Suggestions - Tips for Battery and Using the app - TRACKING * Simple Tracking Interface One Button (Toggles between Start, Stop, Continue) * Colored Display for easy checking Red - Not Tracking Green - Tracking Yellow - No longer tracking due to battery level below setting. * Log of events Shows exactly what happened during your run. You can Clear Log You can delete server tracking data.
