The Council on Electronic Design Automation (CEDA) is the home of a vibrant global community of researchers, academics, and engineers dedicated to all facets of system and circuit design automation. Our field of interest spans the theory, implementation, and application of design automation tools, which today are more essential than ever for enabling the development of cutting-edge electronic systems.

CEDA actively engages its community through a wide range of networking, educational, and professional development activities. These include managing publications, organizing and sponsoring conferences, workshops, technical gatherings, and many other volunteer-led initiatives. We coordinate a series of distinguished lectures worldwide, delivered by experts across several domains, and featured prominently at major conferences and events. We place particular emphasis on creating opportunities for young scientists and early-career professionals, supporting student and young professional activities across our sponsored conferences and through our chapters around the world.

CEDA also promotes and celebrates excellence by presenting awards that recognize outstanding achievements and significant contributions to areas of importance within the community. Our seven member societies reflect the breadth of topics in which design automation plays a central enabling role. To ensure that CEDA remains deeply connected to the evolving landscape of Electronic Design Automation, our Member Technology Organizations provide insights into current trends, challenges, and advances across the field.

As an IEEE Technical Council, CEDA does not have individual members. Yet, IEEE members can join IEEE CEDA as participants at no cost and enjoy access to newsletters, updates, and opportunities in design automation. Participants can exchange ideas, collaborate on research, take part in educational activities, organize technical gatherings, network with colleagues, and stay informed about key developments and events.
