🌳📚 Big news for school greening!![]()
Congress just introduced the Revitalizing America’s Schoolyards Act (RSYA) of 2026, a federal bill (S. 4258 / H.R. 8303) that would create a federal grant program to transform asphalt schoolyards into greener, healthier, climate-resilient spaces for students and communities.![]()
This matters because too many schoolyards, especially in under-resourced communities, are still dominated by asphalt, facing extreme heat, little shade, and flood-prone pavement. 🔥![]()
At APIFM, we’re already advancing this vision through our Fremont Elementary School multi-benefit greening project in Alhambra, CA – creating a schoolyard with more trees, shade, outdoor learning space, and stormwater capture. 🌳💧![]()
RSYA could help more communities advance projects like Fremont nationwide! ![]()
📢 School greening is climate action, public health, and equity. ✨![]()
✍️ Take action! Write your members of Congress using the @outdoorsallianceforkids + @trustforpublicland Action Alerts (links in LinkTree), telling them to support this bill.
