This was like getting 3 romcoms packed into one hilarious story. I loved it! A beautiful Maine destination wedding flies off the hinges for the three women involved, and it couldn’t be more chaotic, funny, and romantic!

The Bride: Marigold is getting the fancy destination wedding of her dreams to Jonathan, a respectable doctor, until she discovers a secret from her wild, carefree past that is about to upend her I do’s. She runs off to rectify things, but it backfires in the most unexpected way.

The Maid of Honor: Natalie is trying her best to make this wedding perfect for her friend; only one problem, she’s in love with the groom.

The Sister of the Bride: Olivia had her eyes set on one man, who seemed to have brought a plus-one for the wedding. But with the help of the best man (who I loved) and a little fake dating scheme, she may win him back… or maybe she won’t need him after all.

I flew through this, laughing most of the time, but darn it @kassmorganbooks if you didn’t get me a little choked up! The ending wrapped up just as I had hoped. What a treat!

🎧 I grabbed the audiobook of @everand, and it was a pure delight, with three wonderful narrators, one for each woman’s point of view.

This story was the charming, feel-good story I needed. I breezed through it, loving the humor, warmth, and heart I found on every page.

The family dynamics and antics were what first grabbed my heart, as Daisy Greene is called home to help with her family’s flower shop. While there is some messiness and challenges within the family, I adored how close Daisy was to her brother, Bud.

The quirky characters, many with floral names, the sweet three-legged dog, and a touch of small-town romance kept me entertained. Ultimately, though, the story is about Daisy’s self-discovery and growth as she decides where her heart and home truly lie. Sometimes, returning to your roots is the biggest chance of all.

The beginning of this book was trademark Frankel: funny, witty, great characters, and not afraid to broach a tough topic. I was having fun reading it. But then, suddenly, the main character becomes less funny and endearing as she takes to her soapbox, which, I get it, if that’s the message you want to send out, okay, but the ending felt out of step with everything she preached.

The audiobook was enjoyable as Becky Ann Baker’s narration fit the story perfectly.

I have seen tons of great reviews for this, and I see why – the premise is heartbreaking. Dolores’ parents sent her twin sister away because she is sick, leaving her with guilt and anger. Set in Brazil during the 1970s, the political turbulence and family dynamics lends for a bit of a darker, grittier undercurrent. I wanted to love this coming-of-age, sister story, but I never felt an emotional attachment to Dolores. I empathized with her plight, but I wasn’t moved as I had hoped to be.

The audiobook, narrated by Gisela Chipe, was well done, but I think an immersive read would work best for this book.

Five interlocking stories, from the 1980s and into the future, some 600 years, that explore our need for connection. It is incredibly ambitious and adventurous, and it raises interesting questions. The writing is excellent, incorporating nostalgia plus a futuristic, sci-fi vibe. My only complaint is how the stories connected. I’d sometimes get lost or confused when switching between them. The audiobook is excellent! Narrated by a full cast, it delivers a full-cinematic effect that elevated my reading experience.

This was such a refreshing and unique read.

A botanical scavenger hunt/race for gardeners puts together four endearing characters on team #FleurFour in hopes of winning the grand prize of $250,000.00.

Not only was this a scavenger hunt, but also a road-trip adventure across New England, filled with clever clues and unexpected speed bumps. I loved all the references to flowers and historical attractions; I felt like I was learning things as I tagged along with the team.

The competition creates a fun, dynamic backdrop that allows team members to share their pasts and hurts. As they work towards the finish line, friendships and relationships begin to blossom, creating a warm atmosphere and a sense of found family.

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘭𝘭 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥: slow-burning literary thriller, seductive affairs, toxic relationships, exploration of grief and trauma, secrets, and obsession.

This is being tagged as a literary debut, and I see how this falls into that category. It has a strong character-driven plot where the focus isn’t so much on what the characters are doing but why they do what they do. The crackling tension and suspense are built through psychological and emotional aspects; here, specifically, the toxic sexual liaisons, looming grief, and secrets used as leverage.

While the pace is measured, the author does a fantastic job of keeping you on edge. These people, their entanglements, and their obsessions teeter on the brink of disaster, and you won’t know who to trust. From New York to Lake Como, Italy, this is a complex, sensuous, and dark look at secrets and betrayals of friends and lovers.

Put this on your summer sizzle list!

🎧 Dylan Moore’s narration added a layer of suspense and tension to this unique narrative. Not only did she give the characters excellent distinction, but it was sultry, with a tautness that hung in the air throughout.
