When coming to long sections of genealogies with hard-to-pronounce names, my brain automatically disengages declaring, ‘boring, boring, boring.’ Yet, I understand their historical significance. To help maintain focus in such passages, I rely on the blessing of technology. I listen to an audio version and follow along rather than becoming frustrated and tongue-tied.

I find a great contrast between the Biblical account of Noah’s Ark and the sanitized versions embedded in my memory. Children’s Sunday School literature and children’s books and Bibles often omit or gloss over the harsh realities of this story.
