Quick Look: 43022 Lewis Hamilton Helmet

Posted by ,

43022 Lewis Hamilton Helmet is one of two Formula 1 drivers' helmets that are released today.

It's essentially a recoloured version of 43014 Charles Leclerc's, so, having examined the parts, internal structure, and intricate building techniques in our review of the Monegasque driver’s protective headgear, this article provides a brief look at the seven-time world champion’s helmet and his minifigure, along with a view of the two side by side.

Timmy & Tommy's Fun Day Out

LEGO Animal Crossing was conspicuously absent from the January range, other than a polybag, but a new set has been unveiled today.

77059 Timmy & Tommy's Fun Day Out moves away from the theme's normal format, instead featuring two brick-built figures in an attractive nature scene. We do not know the price at the moment, but the set contains 513 pieces and will be released on August 1st.

These vehicles look great to me, but we do not have confirmed prices yet. Hopefully they will be added to LEGO.com later today and this article will be updated with additional images and information then.

LEGO Marvel Advent Calendar 2026

Nothing says Christmas like the start of May, so this year's Advent Calendars have been unveiled!

It seems there are only four this year, from City, Star Wars, Marvel and Disney, so Friends and Harry Potter are conspicuously absent and Minecraft was presumably just for one year. However, the four we do have look excellent, including plenty of new figures and some fun models.

I will show box images immediately after the break and then you can view the contents further down the page...

LEGO Star Wars 75451 Hutt Palace Sentry Droid Showdown revealed!

Hutt Palace Sentry Droid Showdown

The first wave of The Mandalorian and Grogu sets has only just been launched and perhaps the most interesting set from the movie so far has already been revealed, ahead of its release in August.

75451 Hutt Palace Sentry Droid Showdown is a 415-piece set, most notable for reintroducing the Kyuzo bounty hunter Embo in minifigure form, fifteen years after his appearance in 7930 Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship! However, he is not alone this time, joined by his pet Anooba, Keibu, as well as The Mandalorian and Grogu.

Embo was also accompanied by an Anooba in the Clone Wars, named Marrok. I would never have expected to see them as LEGO figures, but Keibu looks fantastic to me. The sentry droid looks good too, with lots of mechanical detail.

Four of the summer wave of Technic sets were revealed overnight, and among them is one that's genuinely interesting, bringing the random box concept to the theme: 42233 Mighty Machines - Series 1.

The box contains around 40 parts, some of which are new, that build one of eight mini models.

The other three models are boring cars of which you can view pictures after the break.

A huge number of new sets will be revealed over the next couple of days and we are starting with some great additions to the Chinese Traditional Festival range!

Review: 42685 Heartlake City Fashion Show

Posted by ,

One of the things I really enjoy about the Friends universe is how it represents so much of ordinary life that we don't see in the other themes. We also get to see some other, somewhat more unconventional, sets that we also wouldn't see in other themes. 42685 Heartlake City Fashion Show definitely fits in that latter category.

While there have been several fashion-themed sets before, this is the first set in the Friends world that lets the minidolls do their own rendition of Vogue. So we won't just stand here, let's get to it, they'll strike a pose, there's nothing to it.....

Throwback Thursday - Vintage shop display models

Posted by ,

It has been a while since my last showcase of models from The BLOCKS Collection.

One of the themes that I have been wanting to showcase is The BLOCKS Collection's impressive range of vintage shop models.

All of these models have been glued together as part of their original construction.

They have all been used as part of a permanent shop display. Some of the larger models have been assembled with a mixture of System and DUPLO bricks.

Read on as I showcase this extensive range of vintage shop display models.

Review: 75439 Darth Vader Bust

Posted by ,

A new series of collectable busts debuted in the Marvel theme in 2025 and the range has moved across to Star Wars this year, beginning with two sets. 75439 Darth Vader Bust definitely looks to be the better of the pair, depicting the Sith Lord remarkably well at this scale.

However, I am not entirely convinced this model is actually needed, given its relative similarity to 75304 Darth Vader Helmet, which was available until the end of last year.
