This plugin is unnecessary as its provides a subset of the functionality of the built-in ‘Embedded Media’ custom field which uses the oEmbed API which is a much better and more reliable way of doing this than what I am doing in this plugin. I apologize for my stupidity. Magenta Cuda
This plugin adds a Types custom field for YouTube videos and extends the Types shortcode to show the YouTube videos.
How to define a YouTube video custom Field
From the ‘Available Fields’ box click on the ‘YouTube’ button.

The YouTube custom field definition box will be inserted into the fields box. Enter the name, slug and description as you would have for any Types custom field. You can also set defaults for the video player width and height.

How to enter the YouTube video URL
For the HTML5 video player:
Right click anywhere in the YouTube video. Select ‘Copy video URL’ from the popup menu. Copy the displayed URL to the clipboard.

For the Flash video player:
Right click anywhere in the YouTube video. Select ‘Copy video URL’ from the popup menu.
Finally…
Then paste the clipboard contents to the text input box of the YouTube custom field.

Inserting YouTube Video Shortcodes
The Types shortcode editor has been extended to insert shortcodes for displaying YouTube videos. You can also set the playback parameters: width, height, start time (in seconds), auto start and loop.

Known Bugs
The ‘loop’ parameter is not working. I believe I am correctly setting this parameter according to the YouTube API but testing shows that it has no effect.
