Dexter Lawrence: Dealt to Cincinnati in blockbuster
The Bengals agreed to terms Saturday on a trade with the Giants to acquire Lawrence in exchange for the No. 10 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Lawrence, a three-time Pro Bowler heading into just his age-29 season, stands to ink an extension with his new team shortly. He requested a trade out of New York due to dissatisfaction with the four-year, $87.5 million deal he inked with the Giants back in 2023. The standout defensive tackle's arrival in Cincinnati immediately shores up the team's interior defensive line, though after totaling 9.0 sacks in 2024, Lawrence is now working to rebound from a 2025 campaign in which he totaled just a half-sack on 31 tackles across 17 regular-season appearances. Peter Skoronski: Fifth-year option picked up
The Titans picked up Skoronski's fifth-year option for the 2027 season Saturday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. The move means that Skoronski will make $19.07 million in the 2027 season, and he is eligible for an extension this offseason. Smith's performance on both sides of the ball helped to soften the blow caused by Kevin Durant's (knee) absence, but it wasn't enough to overtake the Lakers' relentless offensive onslaught. Reed Sheppard: Steps up with 17 points
Sheppard racked up 17 points (6-20 FG, 5-14 3Pt), one rebound, eight assists, one block and one steal across 36 minutes during Saturday's 107-98 loss to the Lakers in Game 1 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Sheppard assumed a larger role with Kevin Durant (knee) in street clothes. Josh Okogie was effective on defense, but he couldn't fill the production gap left by Durant. Much of that responsibility fell to Sheppard and Jabari Smith, who tried to keep the team afloat against a powerful performance from the Lakers. Sheppard was able to muster 19 points thanks to a high shot volume, but he only converted 30 percent of those attempts. Kyle Harrison: Ready to start Tuesday
The Brewers list Harrison (wrist/knee) as their probable starter for Tuesday's series opener in Detroit. Harrison had been lined up to make a start this weekend in Miami, but the Brewers ended up pushing the southpaw back in their pitching schedule while he continued to tend to a sore left wrist and knee discomfort coming out of his previous outing April 11. Per MLB.com, Harrison completed a bullpen session Saturday, and with the 24-year-old apparently checking out fine following the workout, he'll be cleared to rejoin the rotation. Myers went 1-for-1 with an RBI and was hit by a pitch in Saturday's 5-4 win over Minnesota. Myers delivered the go-ahead and game-winning run in the top of the ninth inning after entering the contest as a pinch hitter. It was the second time he's delivered a game-deciding run off the bench. Myers has mainly served as a pinch hitter or late-game defensive replacement for the Reds. The 33-year-old winger finished the regular season at 29 goals and 65 points in 72 outings, matching his career-best point total from the year before. Rust will see top-line minutes and power-play time throughout the playoffs. Malkin was rested a couple of times down the stretch, but he earned eight points over five outings in April to close out the regular season hot. The 39-year-old brings a wealth of experience as part of three Stanley Cup-winning teams. In his postseason career prior to this year, he has earned 67 goals and 113 assists over 177 appearances. Skinner stopped 17 of 20 shots in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Flyers in Game 1. Skinner was strong early on, but the Flyers' pair of goals in the third period ended up being too much to overcome. The 27-year-old Skinner went 4-5-4 with a 3.24 GAA and an .884 save percentage over 14 outings after the Olympic break. That's not a great run of form for the goalie, but he has the edge over Arturs Silovs for playing time. Skinner's experience could be the difference -- over three previous playoff runs, he has a combined 26-22 record with a 2.88 GAA, an .893 save percentage and four shutouts in 50 postseason appearances, which includes taking the Oilers to the Stanley Cup Finals in each of the previous two seasons.Read More
